Roll Cage Kits by Vehicle
When a drag car gets quicker, the roll structure has to grow with it - and the kit has to match the car, not just the rulebook. This page pulls together the vehicle-specific cage and bar kits we currently have in stock: 24 kits, hoops, conversions and strut kits from Allstar Performance and Competition Engineering for the Fox Body Mustang (1979-93, plus 1994-2004 hoops and conversions) and the GM F-Body - Camaro and Firebird from 1967 through 2015, from $86.28 to $449.99. Every product listed is in stock and ready to ship, and every order over $200 ships free.

START WITH YOUR VEHICLE
Every full kit on this page is bent for one platform and one year range, exactly as its listing states. Fox Body Mustang: Allstar 8-point bar and 10-point cage kits for 1979-93, their matching main hoops, and Competition Engineering hoops and an 8-to-10-point conversion for the same cars, plus hoops and a conversion for the 1994-2004 Mustang. GM F-Body: Allstar 8-point and 10-point kits for 1967-69, 1970-81, 1982-92 and 1993-2002 Camaro/Firebird, an 8-point kit for the 2010-15 Camaro with its component box, and Competition Engineering Camaro main hoops (1967-69, 1970-81, 1982-92) and a 10-point conversion for 1970-81. Match your year range to the listing - a 1970-81 kit is not a 1982-92 kit - and check the manufacturer's application guide for your specific vehicle before ordering.
8-POINT BAR OR 10-POINT CAGE?
The point count is the number of attachment points where the structure ties into the car. An 8-point roll bar is built around the main hoop behind the driver, with rear struts and door bars. A 10-point roll cage adds the forward structure - A-pillar bars and a halo around the roof opening (the Allstar 10-point hoop assembly on this page lists exactly that: A-pillar bars, halo and main hoop). The tubing pattern is consistent across the listings on this page: the 8-point kits are listed at 1.75 in diameter, 0.134 in wall, and the 10-point kits and conversions at 1.625 in diameter, 0.134 in wall, all steel, all weld-on. Which one your car needs is set by how quick it runs - see the NHRA basics below - not by preference.
THE NHRA BASICS (CONFIRM AGAINST THE CURRENT RULEBOOK)
As a general guide, a roll bar is generally required at 11.49 ET and quicker, a full roll cage at 10.99 ET or 135 mph, and chassis certification at 9.99 ET. Those thresholds are the starting point only: classes, body styles and sanctioning bodies differ, and the rulebook changes - always confirm against the current NHRA (or your sanctioning body's) rulebook for your class before you cut tubing. If you already run an 8-point bar and the car is stepping into cage territory, the conversion kits on this page (for 1979-93 and 1994-2004 Mustangs and 1970-81 Camaros) are listed as weld-on 8-point-to-10-point conversions - the forward structure without starting over.
HOOPS, STRUT KITS AND BUILDING YOUR OWN
Not every build starts from a full kit. This page also carries the pieces fabricators start from: main hoops from Allstar (for its Fox 8-point and 10-point kits) and Competition Engineering (1979-93, 1994-2004 Mustang and 1967-69, 1970-81, 1982-92 Camaro, each listed at 1.75 in diameter, 0.134 in wall), the component box for the 2010-15 Camaro 8-point kit, and Competition Engineering's universal strut kits - an 8-point kit and a 10-point kit with door, main and rear struts (the 10-point also lists floor plates), both marked universal in their listings, so the fitment work is yours. Every kit and component on this page is weld-on, and every listing states that professional installation is recommended - cage welding is structural welding, and tech inspectors will look at it.
QUESTIONS MUSTANG AND F-BODY OWNERS ASK US
Are any of these kits bolt-in? No - every kit, hoop and conversion on this page is listed as weld-on. Plan on a competent welder and interior removal before the car goes together.
My car runs 11.20s - do I need the 10-point? On the general thresholds above, an 11.20 car needs a roll bar; the full cage threshold is 10.99 or 135 mph. Confirm against the current rulebook for your class, and think about where the combination is headed - if a cage is coming soon anyway, the conversion kits on this page let an 8-point bar grow into one.
Will one of these kits fit my convertible? The listings on this page state year and platform; only the 1994-2004 Mustang hoop is explicitly listed as a hardtop part. Convertible bodies differ around the top well, so if your car is a convertible, call us before ordering and we will check the manufacturer's application guide with you.
Can I install a cage kit myself? The manufacturers list professional installation as recommended on every product here, and a cage has to pass tech inspection - most owners use a chassis shop. If you are deciding between the 8-point and the 10-point for your car, call us at 213-549-4279 (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm PT) and we will talk it through against your ET and class.
